The Foundation
Founded in March 2024, the Vallée du Trient Demain Foundation witnesses not only to its desire but also to its ability to bring stakeholders together as all of the valley’s communes – Vernayaz, Salvan, Trient and Finhaut – are members, as are all the companies operating the major infrastructures: These include TMR, whose trains cross the entire valley, TéléMarécottes, bringing visitors to the skiing area and VerticAlp whose funicular railway travels to the Emosson dam.
To this end, the foundation supports projects that pursue sustainability efforts already present in the valley, such as the development of non motorised transport, an environmentally-friendly ski resort, year-round tourism activities, and a cultural heritage that is alive and well.
From Vernayaz, where the little red and white train begins its ascent, to Chamonix, where it arrives two hours later, the Trient valley is a destination like no other:
- a manageable number of ski lifts and natural snowfall,
- outdoor summer activities,
- an alpine zoo,
- a mountain ascent (VerticAlp) powered by hydraulic energy,
- outdoor activities,
- accessible gorges,
- a museum,
- natural alpine heritage,
- that can all be reached by public transport, thanks to the Mont-Blanc Express.
